Overview
First, we are FREE to the public....our funding partners pay the bills and you enjoy the thrills.
Second, we are a populist enterprise so we will test out the appeal of all of our program franchises, so if you like it, we will develop and fund it, if not, we remove it, both those that we begin with and those which you may choose to add of your own....which we will add in GREEN to our listings.
There is no sense in making something which no one is interested in....
Third, our Festival is not like most Fairs and Festivals we don't exist to part you with your money.
When you come to enjoy our activities we will not be covered in corporate advertising or offering you food that is half the portion and twice the price of some restaurant you can visit any day of the week.
We are a community celebration...we are here to celebrate the interests and ideas of a community, not to celebrate the triumph of capitalism over every hour of your day.
Fourth, our emphasis is in developing year-round operations, with hundreds of daily offerings that change but never really end...
We are not a crammed, two-day, sense-numbing monstrosity....we are spread all about and as participation expands so will the number and type of activities, each and every day, each and every neighborhood.
In sum,
it is our ideal that there should be a Civic Commonwealth, a state where we all contribute what we can of ourselves, to make this world a more beautiful and interesting place.
A place that values us and shows it in compelling deeds that improve the likelihood each of us will see our dreams realized.
A place where wealth is shared and not horded, both the material and immaterial.
In this Festival we will promote our Civic Commonwealth and show you that community is not just another street, or neighborhood, or zip code.
Its a state of mind we can cultivate to enrich everyones life...and in doing so create an Endless Summer Celebration !
